On today’s show we are speaking with Amanda Brooks; Marketing & Communications Manager for USA Track & Field. Amanda took over managing USA Track & Field’s social marketing efforts in November 2013. Since then, USATF has seen a follower growth of over 200% across all platforms. Before her time at USATF, Amanda spent six years working in college athletics as a sports information director. She began her career at Vanderbilt University, where she attended graduate school and worked in the athletic media relations office with every varsity sport. Amanda then took an internship with the Florida Gators in June 2010 and was hired full time a year later. While there, she worked with the football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track and field, women’s lacrosse and women’s volleyball programs. Her teams combined for three NCAA championships and four conference titles in her time with the Gators. Along with managing social media for USA Track & Field, Amanda is a spokeswoman for USATF at many domestic and international elite track & field competitions.

At the NFF she also manages their website and email distribution as well as the annual fundraiser. With a growing emphasis on social within the organization, Hannah focuses on education and awareness for National Forests and the work of the NFF. When not perusing social, she enjoys crafting sarcastic remarks, experiencing time travel through reading and generally escaping the world in the woods

On Today's show we are speaking with Eleni Tavantzis; Senior Manager of Digital & Social Communications at Lilly Pulitzer. Eleni has experienced the revolution of social media and digital marketing from the front row since 2007. With strong social media experience that's been honed with retail leaders and innovators, Eleni was the first social media employee for multichannel retailer QVC and built out the team, which evolved into a department, which then evolved into a strategy spanning the entire company. She now leads the social and digital communications strategy for the original American resort wear brand Lilly Pulitzer, and is accelerating their brand presence through social media campaigns that engage the consumer through a cohesive digital and brick-and-mortar experience.

Today we are speaking with Meryl Weinsaft Cooper; Principal/Co-Founder, Allen/Cooper Enterprises. Meryl is a communications/social media specialist, published author and blogger, who teamed up with Helen Allen in 2011 to launch Allen/Cooper and Site/109. Previously, she held executive leadership roles at two of the top lifestyle PR/Marketing agencies in the country - DeVries Public Relations' Home & Lifestyle division and at LaForce+Stevens. In these roles she led programs for a variety of brands such as Belvedere Vodka, Veuve Clicquot, Rockstar Games, Magnolia Bakery and Dale Carnegie Training to name a few. Meryl has also had several years’ experience in the Screen Actors Guild’s NY office and running PR for Working Mother and the National Association for Female Executives. On Today's show we are speaking to Cara Friedman; Social Media Manager at Publishers Clearing House. In this role, Cara guides the social media strategy for multiple PCH properties and manages a team of Social Media Coordinators. Formerly, Cara was Sr. Director, Marketing at Likeable Media. While at Likeable, Cara managed the internal marketing of the company. Previously as General Manager, she oversaw the managers of the company’s “buzz builder” program, a network of more than 100 interns that operated out of Likeable’s New York and Boston offices. Additionally, Cara’s role included being in charge of the operations department including human resources, finance, contracts and office management. Cara has been responsible for managing premium clients as well as creating custom trainings for corporate clients and their staffs. Some of her clients have included Logitech, Cosmopolitan, NYSDOH, Maidenform, and General Electric. Cara is a frequent blogger with featured posts on Mashable and Social Media Today, and has spoken at various events and conferences including BlogWorld and WOMM-U. Cara is a graduate with a JD from St. John's School of Law. She received her BA in Communications and an MA in Organizational Communications from the University at Albany.
