Today we are speaking with Meryl Weinsaft Cooper; Principal/Co-Founder, Allen/Cooper Enterprises. Meryl is a communications/social media specialist, published author and blogger, who teamed up with Helen Allen in 2011 to launch Allen/Cooper and Site/109. Previously, she held executive leadership roles at two of the top lifestyle PR/Marketing agencies in the country - DeVries Public Relations' Home & Lifestyle division and at LaForce+Stevens. In these roles she led programs for a variety of brands such as Belvedere Vodka, Veuve Clicquot, Rockstar Games, Magnolia Bakery and Dale Carnegie Training to name a few. Meryl has also had several years’ experience in the Screen Actors Guild’s NY office and running PR for Working Mother and the National Association for Female Executives. A co-author of Be Your Own Best Publicist: How to Use PR Skills to Get Hired, Noticed and Rewarded At Work, Meryl is also a contributing blogger for and often lectures nationally about public relations and reputation management.

On Today's show we are speaking to Cara Friedman; Social Media Manager at Publishers Clearing House. In this role, Cara guides the social media strategy for multiple PCH properties and manages a team of Social Media Coordinators. Formerly, Cara was Sr. Director, Marketing at Likeable Media. While at Likeable, Cara managed the internal marketing of the company. Previously as General Manager, she oversaw the managers of the company’s “buzz builder” program, a network of more than 100 interns that operated out of Likeable’s New York and Boston offices. Additionally, Cara’s role included being in charge of the operations department including human resources, finance, contracts and office management. Cara has been responsible for managing premium clients as well as creating custom trainings for corporate clients and their staffs. Some of her clients have included Logitech, Cosmopolitan, NYSDOH, Maidenform, and General Electric. Cara is a frequent blogger with featured posts on Mashable and Social Media Today, and has spoken at various events and conferences including BlogWorld and WOMM-U. Cara is a graduate with a JD from St. John's School of Law. She received her BA in Communications and an MA in Organizational Communications from the University at Albany.

Since joining Likeable Media's internship program in 2009, Michele has worn many hats at the company and now as a Social Media & PR Manager, Michele is responsible for creating daily content and monitoring Likeable Media's social communities, maintaining relationships with hundreds of journalists, event programmers, and brand marketers, and garnering media coverage for the agency's work. Michele is very passionate about social media, particularly Twitter. She is the founder and moderator of the nationally acclaimed #LikeableChat and tweets as @ottogrl. Michele is a proud graduate of Syracuse University with a B.S. in Marketing Management and Television, Radio Film and is also is also a college basketball fanatic and a member of both the New York Cares Fundraising Committee and Advertising Women In New York.

Today we are speaking with Marissa Pick: Director of Social Media at Euromoney Institutional Investor.  Marissa advises over 100 global businesses internally on best practices to help drive traffic, membership, engagement, and ROI from social media effort across publications, events businesses, and other internal programs.  Marissa was named one of the #Nifty50 Top Twitter Women Writers in 2013 and shortlisted as a finalist for the 2014 Rising Star Award by the British Media Awards.  Marissa is the co-chair of the BMA:FWD  the young professionals arm of BMA-New York Chapter and a co-chair of the BOLD alumni network at Brandeis University.  Marissa holds an M.P.P. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she graduated Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society.  She received her B.A. in American Studies from Brandeis University.

With a background in art and education she saw some nail art featured on Instagram and was immediately captivated. Two years later she had grown a following of almost 30,000 on Instagram, launched her own blog inspired by fashion, art and popular culture at, been invited to cover New York Fashion Week and has had her manicures featured online on Cosmopolitan, The Daily Beast and Nail It! Magazine. She has created manicures to help promote clients and has done nails for the book Silent Echo and various brands. Deciding to shift her career to social media professionally she left education and has worked for DIOSA Nails, TapeMeasure and Likeable Media.
